Empty Classroom

This is the classroom from Tuesday's post:

...without students.

Today's A to Z Challenge post brought to you by the letter...

Is this how you pictured the room from Tuesday's post? Is this how you pictured the classrooms I sub in normally? How does this compare to classrooms you've been in?

  1. That's kind of how I picture EVERY classroom.

  2. lol, nope, we'd longer desks in secondary school, and those flip over boards (attach to the side of your chair yokes), in uni. But it's a cool photo.

  3. Less windows than I'm accustomed to. It's nice and airy though. I could learn in an environment like that, I think.

  4. It reminds me a lot of my old high school. The desks even have the racks that I never used because I'd forget my books on them.

  5. I had to go back and read the related post. This is a fine looking class to me, can’t believe it’s for detention.

    1. It's not a detention class. It's a forensic science class. One of the students from the science class was assigned detention (which takes place elsewhere).

  6. Well, if we go way back to my childhood...they look ultra modern! I remember the solid wood variety. My daughter's classroom where she teaches now looks very similar. Shells–Tales–Sails

  7. Looks a lot like many classrooms I've been in, though the desks look a sight more comfortable than the ones we had all the way through junior high and high school.

    1. I don't know if they're all that comfortable. Those seats are pretty hard.

    1. Depending on the day, yes. This particular class wasn't a problem, though, so I didn't so much mind them when they were in class. They were actually kind of fun.

  9. Hi Liz,

This classrom certainly looks ultra modern when I think back to my own school days and I would have loved to study somewhere like this, as I loved school, studying and homework, although home circumstances didn't enable me to pursue further education.

It sounds as though you run a firm ship, good for you. This is an example of teaching at its best, as far as I'm concerned. When I listen to colleagues who have children of school age and some of the teachers who purportedly educate them, I despair of the education system and the standards it achieves, here in the UK.

Never having had a family of my own, as far as I'm concerned, the best kind of classroom is an empty one, or perhaos you have just been demonstrating some the forensic science techniques you teach, on the children!!

I hope that the coming week is much better for you.

    1. It isn't my classroom. I sub. It was the classroom I had for the day.
